Regulators At A Glance:
CGA 870: Used with portable patient cylinders. Connects to cylinders via pin index with standard or toggle post valve – size M6 thru E.
CGA 540: Used with large back up cylinders. Connects to cylinders via nut with CGA 540 valve – size M60/MM and large steel cylinders.
DISS: Outlet used with bubble humidifier or quick connect tubing. Green hose nipple adapter can be used to connect standard cannula to the regulator.
Barb: Outlet fitting used for connecting cannula.
Yoke Washer: Assists to provide a complete seal of regulator to cylinder (CGA 870 connection). Must be changed regularly. Constructed of Brass/Viton or Brass/BunaN material. Crush sealing washers are not approved for use with RRI oxygen regulators.
LPM Flow Range:
– 3 LPM: Pediatric and low flow patients, smaller increment flows, prescribed in decimal or fraction liter increments
– 8 LPM: Standard flow, for most oxygen patients, liter flow settings typically 1 LPM increments
-15 LPM: High flow, for hard to saturate patients requiring high flows over 8 LPM
